Cute craft
These cute snakes are a cleaver way to teach braiding and fit right in with our western theme. A third hand is helpful to hold the snake head, however. Since we will be using this craft for a few hundred kids, we made a holder by taking two small nails and nailing them in a board so that the eyes of the snake fit over them- viola! a third hand- just don't pull too hard. Be sure to follow the instructions to flatten the tail otherwise the first bead is a little difficult to get on. I'm lovin' this craft!

Frustration for all
Thought this would be a great project for the boys to make a summer camp....wrong! Wrong and WRONG! It was so poorly made that we broke two just trying to put them together. The beads did not fit on the tail end as shown and then they fell off. I do NOT reccommend this project for anyone. I have so many disappointed & frustrated boys at my rec center right now. They really wanted to make a snake!

VBS project
Used these for a Western VBS. The kids didn't have trouble with them and we used pony beads on the tail in the colors of the wordless book. They really liked them a lot!

Not easy
The straps were weak and several broke. It was difficult to braid for children and nearly impossible to put the beads on the three strands together. This craft was frustrating for the kids and nearly a flop.

fun
The children enjoyed very much doing the snakes. The eye for the hook is very weak and many of them broke soon after hence the 4 stars instead of 5
