Great Craft for VBS
I needed a simple craft for us to use for our VBS Day Camp that we had this year, so I chose these bird houses. I LOVED them and all of the kids enjoyed putting them together and painting them. We had around 70 children ranging from ages 3 years old to 11 years old and everyone seemed to enjoy them. Our VBS was for three days and the craft time was one hour each day. The first day the children put them together and we added the tacky glue (also purchased through Oriental Trading) and let them dry over night. The next day we painted the base color with the Tempora paints (purchased through OT) and then the 3rd day we used smaller brushes and the children painted their own designs on them for a final personal touch.
I was very pleased with our purchase. The only problem I ran into is that I didn't order enough. I ordered a total of 60 and needed 70. Out of the 60 I ordered, I only had 1 that we had to cut slits into. Very much worth the price and quality was very good I thought.

Good Craft for Cub Scouts
My cub scout troop had lots of fun with this. At first we were a little confused because there were 3 patterns. But once we figured it out the boys had fun. They decorated it with stickers, foam bugs and markers. We are using them for centerpieces at the blue and gold gala dinner. The boys will be proud to show them off to their family members.

Girl Scout Camp
We bought these birdhouses to do at a multi-age level camp out and the kids loved them. It was easy to assemble and we put just a little glue on them to make sure they stayed together.

Great Spring Project
I bought this project to do with children in my Day Care Center. They have been a big hit. They are fairly easy to assemble. Only the youngest 5-6 yrs old have needed some assistance. The kids loved painting them and decorating them. We used stickers for decorating and then used a sealer. Each one turned out unique and the kids were very proud of their bird houses as should be!

This was a big hit!
We used these for my daughters 'birdhouse' themed b-day party and all of the kids loved them as the party favor. They spent several minutes coloring them and decorating them. We also loved that there were three different style options to the kids to choose from.

A favorite
These were a hit with ages 8 - 12. We assembled and painted them for VBS. I hot glued all of the seams. 2 houses out of 72 were missing a piece.

NICE SIZE, GOOD PRICE
I HAVE ONLY PUT ONE OF THEM TOGETHER BUT IT WAS EASY TO DO. I WILL USE THEM FOR A HALLOWEEN PARTY FOR GUESTS TO MAKE THEIR OWN CANDY HOUSE, SORT OF LIKE A GINGERBREAD HOUSE ONLY FOR A DIFFERENT HOLIDAY. SEEMS EASY ENOUGH FOR ANYONE TO PUT TOGETHER.

Good Product
I purchased these bird houses for our VBS with children from K to grade 6. Everyone was able to put them together with minimal help from adults. One house was packaged incorrectly and one piece was missing. One other house had a tab that was too thick to go through the slot. But since I ordered 48 I didn't think that was bad. The kids thoroughly enjoyed putting them together and decorating them. We didn't use paints as we had so many children but they used markers, stickers, foam stickers, and colored craft sticks and they turned out really cute. I would recommend this even for a large group of children as they were great to do!

Exactly what I was looking for
I was hoping to find a bulk buy on birdhouses, because I wanted to create an area in my yard with a high bird population. These fit the bill perfectly. Yes, they're very thin wood. Yes, you must glue them well to ensure they hold up outdoors. Yes, they need a coat of paint to repel the elements. No, they're not hard to put together. I knocked all 12 out in about an hour, glueing included. Take a tip tho: use a glue other than super-glue. You need something thick and gooey to seal the edges/cracks. After the glue set up, I actually tried to disassemble one house, to see how sturdy it would be. I had to give up trying to pull it apart, because the wood actually started to warp, but the joints and glue never let go. I didn't use the "hangers" included in the kits: I don't like a birdhouse to swing in the breeze, because it can knock against the tree/limbs/etc and cause damage in a high wind. Instead, I wired the houses permanently in place, wrapping the wire around the base of each house & just under the eaves. Worked great & I highly recommend these if you're looking for a way to bring birds into your yard.
