Are these food safe? They are supposed to have numbers on plastic someplace that answers this question. Do they have a number or a triangle that has a number on it.

BEST ANSWER: These are not food "containers" designed to come into direct contact with exposed food, they are not FDA safe approved.
Will these buckets hold painting on them

BEST ANSWER: Yes, you would be able to paint these buckets. The paint would wash off if they got wet.
