Great craft for older younger teens
I purchased these for a group of young teenagers. They absolutely loved them. The foam was very good quality and the string was colorful. The craft was simple enough that instructions were not needed, but intricate enough that it kept them occupied for a good amount of time. I will purchase these again if I ever need something for a group of kids this age again.

needs improvement
I was attracted to the colorful string and the ease of inserting plastic pegs into the funofam crosses. My prep for the craft was tedious and consumed too much time. Each portion of string needed to be wrapped around a cardboard "spool" to make the craft usable for 5th through 8th grade kids. Also, the numbers on some of the number patterns were not printed squarely on the crosses, rendering them undesirable as a finished project.

Disaster VBS Craft
I ordered this string art craft for the older children ages 7-13 for VBS at our church. Our 5 volunteers spent 1 hour detangling the string in every packet. There was not 1 string that wasn’t tangled and knotted in many places out of 25 crosses. Each string took about 10-15 minutes to detangle. On top of that the children under the age of 12 had a VERY difficult time making this string art craft. Only 3 children out of 40 ended up completing it. This was a disaster craft!

  • BEST ANSWER: Yes. Each kit comes with one long piece of string to wrap around the pegs/pins and one short piece of string to use as a hanger.
