Takes time to dry!
This seems to be exactly as described, except that our participants never got to finish their skulls because they never dried. The watery glue takes time to dry, so make sure to allow a couple hours before moving on to the decorating part.

Fun after some modifications
Lots of fun pieces to keep kids entertained for a while. I bought these for a 1st grade class so I made some adjustments…. The black border is peel and stick so I used that to stick on shelving/contact paper from Target. Then I cut around the border. This allowed you to just peel and have a perfectly stick surface for the tissue paper to adhere to. It was labor intensive for my party but worth it!

Missing pieces
I love the project and yes it is better for 6 and older. My kits were missing pieces and that was unfortunate. My kits were missing eyes, nose and the face decorations. Pretty significant items to miss. I hope other kits I ordered are not missing pieces.

very pretty, but needs glue, water, container, and brush
This project is very pretty, but it requires some preparation and extra items not in the kit. If you are doing this with a class of students, make sure you put down newspapers first. You will need small cups or something to hold the water and glue mixture. Students will also need a small brush to brush the glue mixture. Depending on the age of the students, it could get messy.

Craft for older kids
This would definitely be a craft for older kids. Lining up the frame on the acetate sheet is a little tricky. It looks really cool once done. I bought them for a Girl Scout camping trip.

3,2,1, contact
Very pretty craft. The older kids 7 and up enjoyed it. Younger kids can do the craft but contact paper is always a bit challenging.

So you glue the tissue paper to the white foam. And then is there a clear acetate sheet that goes over that and then the black border? Or is the black border attached to the acetate sheet?
| October 13th, 2023
  • BEST ANSWER: Adhere the skull frame to the dry acetate. Then, adhere the foam skull pieces as shown or anyway you choose.

Why is glue needed? Doesn't the tissue paper stick to the clear contact paper and then the foam is self-sticking? Or does this not involve clear contact paper?
| October 7th, 2023
  • BEST ANSWER: This item does not include contact paper, you would need to glue the tissue paper to the white foam head.
