Is the plastic loop that you thread the ribbon through to hang the ornament on both sides of the seam? I'm would like to split the ball apart and make two ornaments, but I can't tell if the loop is on both sides or just one.

BEST ANSWER: Yes these could be used outside depending on how they are decorated. If placing items inside the ornament you may want to reinforce the seal.
