BEST ANSWER: I've had some ... "blown-up", so to speak, for 2 years! Put the stick on first. (I put some clear scotch tape on the side of stick to keep shut. Press the expanding cell inside, let them start expanding - BUT, gently shape them so they don't have creases around the sides and look distorted. Don't just leave them to their own devices to expand. Shake gently as they expand.
