Funky colors and geometric shapes were all the craze in the 1970s. Bring back the disco era with a fun and far out DIY 1970s Party Backdrop. I’m excited to share how you can create this super easy and low cost decor idea that will surely set the stage for any awesome 1970s shindig!
Gather the Brown Square Dinner plates, Red Square Dinner plates and White Square Dessert plates along with the 70s Party Beverage Napkins. Plug in the hot glue gun. Once the glue gun is ready, apply a generous amount to the corner area of the dinner plate.
Place the White Dinner Plate on top. Apply a generous amount of glue in the center area of the dessert plate.
Next, place a 70s Party Beverage Napkin on top. Repeat this process with the red and brown plates until you have enough for your backdrop space.
Next, adhere the plates to the wall with masking or painter’s tape. Making sure to measure between each plate to ensure a straight pattern. Leave a space in the center of the backdrop for a few 70s Party Cutouts. I also added a couple of 70s Party Dinner Plates.
Add your favorite 70s Party Cutouts in the center of the backdrop. I chose the yellow orb, “Far Out” text and record cutout for my backdrop. I glued them together with hot glue then applied them to the wall with painter’s tape.
And that’s it! A simple far out and funky DIY 1970s Party Backdrop! The best part is that you can change the configuration easily to your space and liking!
