Customizing simple sweets for an event is a fabulous way to incorporate the theme of your party without having to spend a lot of time or money. Chocolate covered strawberries are one of our favorite easy desserts! We dipped a few fresh strawberries in various colors of chocolate and decorated them to resemble some of the adorable animals seen in our Jungle Baby Shower. Find out how to make your own by following our few simple steps below!
- 3 oz Orange Candy Melts
- 3 oz White Chocolate Chips or Candy Melts
- 3 oz Yellow Candy Melts
- Canola Oil as needed
- 1 oz Milk Chocolate Chips
- Black Decorating Gel
- 12 Fresh Strawberries
Begin by melting the orange, white and yellow candy melts in the microwave. We melted ours in 30-second intervals and stirred in between. If the chocolate appears to be a bit too thick, add a small amount of canola oil to thin it out.
Once the chocolates are completely melted, hold a strawberry by its leafy top and submerge it into the chocolate. Make one orange, one white and one yellow strawberry. Place them on parchment paper to dry.
Once dry, take your black decorating gel and add stripes to both the orange and white strawberries. They should now resemble a tiger and zebra! Allow to dry.
To add the giraffe spots to the yellow strawberry, melt the milk chocolate and pour it into a small, Ziploc® bag. Snip off a tiny portion of the bottom corner of the bag and pipe brown "spots" onto the strawberry. Allow to dry.
