Congratulations! You did it! The kids' backpacks are packed, you've kissed them goodbye, and they just waved goodbye as you dropped them off at school. Now, it's your time, mom and dad! Make your way over to our neighborhood back-to-school parent breakfast; where the mimosas are bottomless and the parents carefree.
Our child-free parents walked into a bright and cheery breakfast set-up to celebrate the first day of school!
Place settings were made up of Blue Hexagon Paper Dinner Plates layered with Pink Hexagon Paper Dessert Plates and topped with Happy Day Paper Dessert Plates. We loved the various sayings on each dessert plate that said sentiments like "Hooray!", Best Day Ever" and "Good Times".
Adding in customized details is a great way to bring a party to life, so when we saw these Personalized Luncheon Napkins, we knew we had to add our own text!
Our white napkins were detailed in gold foil with the text, "Yay! The kids are back to school!" To add to our excitement, we included fuchsia Yay Silly Plastic Straws, which our friends could use in their Stemless Plastic Champagne Glasses. Each glass was detailed with Blue Adhesive Vinyl that said "THEY'RE GONE!"
A Pink Wooden Fork was placed on each napkin for a dose of color.
Our place settings also included a few small tokens of our ongoing joy like a A Happy Day Confetti Popper, because who doesn't wanna pop a little confetti as the kids step onto the school bus that first morning?
A customized, Small Goldtone Trophy was placed on each table for all those parents who successfully (or barely) survived the summer with their children. Let's face it, you're all winners in our book!
We placed the Customized Oh Happy Day Party Invitation in a yellow frame and used it as our centerpiece.
DIY Unfinished Wood Hand Note Holders were painted a cool, Mint Color and detailed with Pink Adhesive Vinyl to say one of our favorite words on the first day of school....BYE!
We flanked the centerpiece and wooden hands with two Back to School Bus Picture Frame Magnet Craft Kits. We added in pictures of our kids to the school bus windows and then took a silly selfie and attached it to the top of the bus! We thought this was a fun and hilarious sendoff craft for both the child and parent!
We also added in some Colorful Hand Clappers, detailed to say "BYE!" in White Adhesive Vinyl. We thought this could be a fun (and noisy) way to send the kids off each morning!
Parents were psyched to hit up our champagne and breakfast bar and couldn't wait to pop some bottles!
Our breakfast bar stood in front of our Back to School Parent Breakfast poster designed by Jen van der Meij. You can download the poster for free here and then take it to your local print shop to get it printed in a large format.
Plastic Carafes were detailed with White Adhesive Vinyl to say Pop! Those! Bottles! Each bottle held a different kind of juice that parents could mix with their champagne to make a delicious mimosa.
Guests could pour mimosas into Stemless Champagne Glasses or these fun and appropriate Hello Bubbly Plastic Champagne Flutes!
Gold Foil Yay Cocktails Beverage Napkins were added to the table for a glam touch.
As for the breakfast foods, parents could choose from a variety of donuts held on Clear Donut Stands or make their own yogurt parfaits.
Clear Angle Plastic bowls contained vanilla yogurt, homemade granola and a mix of berries made the perfect morning snack! Guests could dished each parfait ingredient using Clear Plastic Candy Scoops.
And although we would eat cake for breakfast to celebrate this momentous occasion, we decided to serve a stack of cinnamon rolls topped with an Acrylic Hooray Cake Topper.
Parents were able to enjoy their breakfast and bottomless mimosas in peace without having to fetch any snacks, hearing whining or breaking up sibling squabbles; at least until approximately 3:00pm. For us, we'd call that a successful back-to-school parent breakfast! We hope you'll be inspired to host your own fun neighborhood get together.
