Here’s a fun no-sew project perfect for youth camps. All you need are 2 bandanas and a pair of scissors! I chose to use the fun pixel checkered bandanas, but these would also be fun to make with an Aloha twist using hibiscus bandanas, wild purses out of animal print bandanas, or even as traditional western bandana print.
Lay identical bandanas together with wrong sides on the inside. Cut continuously around 3 of the sides about 1.5″ wide. Set aside and save for later. Leave the finished edge as the top of the bag. Cut 3 inches off the bottom of the bag and discard.
Cut 1″ slits about 3″ deep around the 3 edges of the bag we cut the trim off of. Cut slits at an angle around the corners.
Tie the matching slits together in a double knot. Leave the top slits untied for now.
Take the long strips cut from the edges and cut each in half, creating four long strips of fabric. Discard one of the strips. Knot the ends of the remaining three strips together and braid. Knot at the end of the braid.
Tie the braided piece onto the bag using the top pieces that were left untied.
These cute little purses make great pool bags with room to carry sunblock, Ombre Sunglasses, swim goggles Spiral Notebooks, and still have room for your bathing suit.
