Kids will love to score with this cool Basketball Card Holder for Valentine's Day! Classmates can shoot their Valentine in the clever basketball hoop and score some points with their friends. With just a few supplies, parents can help kids create this DIY Valentine box for school. Transform a Bamboo Basket and White Foam Board into a cool basketball hoop! Kids will love being able to create their own special Valentine holder for their classroom.
First, begin by spray painting the small Bamboo Basket black. Allow the basket to dry completely. After the basket has dried, cut the handles off of the basket using a strong pair of scissors.
Using Orange Washi Tape, create a square outline on a White Foam Board Sheet. This will create a basketball backboard for the basket.
Trace the outside of the Orange Washi Tape with a Black Sharpie® Fine Point Maker outline.
Cut thin strips from Self Adhesive Foam Sheets. Place these strips diagonally across the basket. Place the strips both ways to create diamond shapes. This will create the look of a basketball net.
Cut a small notch out of the foam backboard on both sides of the bottom. This will help to connect the foam backboard to the black basket. Use a hot glue gun to glue the backboard onto the basket.
Using Black Washi Tape, outline the backboard for a final touch. This gives the backboard a black pop.
