Begin by removing the cording and dowel rod from a DIY Long Canvas Column Banner. Set them aside to use later. Next, mix 2 tbsp of tan Rit® Dye with hot water in your sink or a large bucket. Be sure to mix well. Submerge the canvas banner in the dye bath for about one minute, or until a very light beige color is achieved. Place the banner in the dryer on the hottest setting until fully dry. Remove from the dryer and cut the banner in half to yield two shorter banners.

Next, fold the raw edge of the banner upwards by about 1/4" and use a hot glue gun to glue the folded end onto the banner itself to create a smooth, hemmed edge.

Set the banner aside and begin creating a total of twelve 3" tassels with cream-colored yarn. Start by wrapping the yarn around a 3" piece of wood or cardboard 30 times. Leave the beginning and end of the string closer to 5" when you finish. After cutting the string, pull each of the ends under the wrapped yarn one time and tie them in a tight knot at the top of the wood/cardboard piece.

Slip the wrapped yarn off the piece of wood/cardboard and cut the looped end to yield the tasseled fringe. Cut an additional 3" piece of yarn to tie around the top to create the "head" of the tassel. Knot tightly and trim the end pieces.

Lightly sketch rainbow arcs with a pencil onto the DIY banner. Beginning from the outside edge, measure roughly 2" in and then draw a tall arc stretching to the opposite side of the banner. Continue drawing an additional four arcs, each roughly 2" from the next. This will yield four 2" arcs with a wider middle section.

Now, paint every other arc with five colors to coordinate with your decor, starting in the middle. Allow the paint to dry before painting the arcs in between. We chose three varying shades of coral, yellow and teal for our rainbow. A few coats may need to be applied to achieve a fully opaque rainbow.

Once the paint has dried, place wool felt pom-poms along the outer arc of the rainbow about 3" apart, using a small dab of hot glue to attach them. Turn the banner over and space 11 of the yarn tassels along the bottom edge of the banner. Once evenly placed, adhere the tassels to the banner with hot glue.

Finally, replace the dowel rod into the pocket along the top of the banner and tie a long, doubled length of cream-colored yarn to the dowel rod. Tie the remaining tassel onto the dowel rod on the left side of the banner. Hang your new boho rainbow wall hanging over the dessert table during your Boho Rainbow Sip & See and then transfer to baby's nursery afterwards!
