So, it’s no surprise that we are currently obsessed with all things gold. And when we laid eyes on our new Gold Geormetric Terrariums, cute little DIY ceramic bunny banks and their gold foil leaf sheets, we knew we had an Easter centerpiece in the making! Let’s start with our color block white candle holder set and our gold foil bunnies!

Project Time
20 to 30 min
Difficulty
Intermediate
Step
1

Begin by placing a piece of painters tape diagonally on the deck portion of the white candle holder. This will mark off the section you paint.

Take your paint and apply three coats to the portion you would like with color, including the base of the pedestal. Make sure to allow the paint to dry in between coats. We painted our candle holders a variety of magenta, light pink, light blue and turquoise.

Once the paint is completely dry, remove the painters tape. You should have a crisp line where your new paint meets the white candle holder.

Now onto those little bunnies! Make sure to have two clean paint brushes on hand for this part of the project. Take your first paintbrush and dip it into the Mod Podge. Paint the Mod Podge onto the sections of the bunny you would like to be gold.

While the Mod Podge is wet, cut small sections of gold leaf foil sheets and gently place them on top of the Mod Podged portions of the bunny. Press delicately to adhere the gold foil in place.

Allow the gold foil to dry on the bunny for a few minutes. Once it is dry, take your second, clean paint brush and gently brush away the extra gold foil. Once the excess is brushed away, your bunny will be coated in fabulous gold foil!

Add some fresh greens to the top of the candle holder and place your new gold foil bunny on top. Repeat steps one through six with the additional candle holders and bunnies and the first part of your centerpiece is complete!
