Take flight and flit on over for a fanciful butterfly 1st birthday party that is sure to set your heart aflutter! Transform your space into a playful butterfly garden in shades of lavender and pink to make your guests feel as if they've wandered into a magical wonderland as soon as they arrive. From a beautiful balloon garland to fanciful florals, we've covered all the details to help you easily recreate this cheerful scene!
Upon entering the party, little guests were positively transfixed by the all the dreamy details of our whimsical winged ONEderland!
Varying shades of lavender, pink, silver and white popped in our bright room and we were just smitten with every element of the adorable Butterfly Wings Party line.
Hanging over our dessert table was an amazing balloon garland full of butterflies that we removed from Butterfly Hanging swirls.
Starting with the pink latex balloon arch kit as the base, we inflated varying sizes of lavender latex balloons using a hand-held balloon pump and dotted them here and there to better coordinate with our color palette. Sections cut from an iridescent foil fringe door curtain were then affixed to the arch in three areas to add texture and visual interest.
A hot pink Butterfly Mylar Balloon was added to the arch to really maximize the whimsy of the installation.
Creating a smaller balloon installation to sit on the floor was the perfect way to bring more color and appeal to the side of our dessert table. First, we crafted a small balloon cluster for the base and then inflated a Gold 1 Shaped Number Mylar Balloon using our balloon pump. We then brightened up the number 1 balloon with a bit of light pink spray paint.
Once painted, GlueDots® were used to secure the number balloon to the small cluster. 3D Butterfly Cut-outs were then attached to tie in with the theme.
An Enchanted Tablescape
Keeping our table and chairs low enabled our little guests to flutter in and out with ease and pairing each chair with a set of adorable butterfly wings helped them do so in style! Not only did the wings dress up the backs of the chairs, but they made for fun party favors as well!
Pink, lavender and purple butterflies, removed from the 3D Butterfly Ombre Curtain Backdrop, were scattered down the center of our table to act as a table runner.
DIY Unfinished Wood Butterfly Photo Holders created an easy peasy, yet adorable, focal point for our centerpiece. We simply chose three and gave them a coating of light pink paint. Once dry, we attached silver stickers to spell out the word "one".
Purple textured glass vases, painted lavender to better coordinate with our theme, were filled with dried florals and sat on either side of our butterfly centerpiece.
Three Feather Butterflies looked right at home in each of our floral arrangements.
Place Settings Fit for Social Butterflies
We love creating layered place settings because they add so much dimension and color to a simple table. We began by spray painting White Doily Placemats a shade of light pink to make each spot really pop.
Next, Butterfly Shaped Paper Dinner Plates were placed atop Square Lavender Dinner Plates.
Simple touches, like painting the bases of metallic silver forks a coordinating color, can really take your party up a notch and make place settings feel more custom. Our forks rested upon playful Butterfly Luncheon Napkins.
Super cute Butterfly Paper Cups with Sleeves with Iridescent Straws rounded out each place setting.
Fanciful Fluttering Favors
When the party favor bags are as cute as the Butterfly Shaped Gift Bags, they deserve to be showpieces on the table for all to see!
Each guest was absolutely giddy to receive a Sequin Butterfly Mask, an Iridescent Hair Clip and an iridescent spiral bracelet to go along with their butterfly wings!
Scrumptious Sweets & Treats
Our dessert table had a little something to suit all our little butterflies' fancy!
Sweet and savory kettle corn filled light pink and Mini Lilac Popcorn Boxes that were dressed up with butterflies from the 3D Butterfly Ombre Door Curtain.
A few dots of hot glue helped secure the butterflies to the boxes.
A Glass Jar Set, filled with yummy meringues, Hershey's® Hugs & Kisses® Chocolate Candies and a combo of light pink and Shimmering Lavender Chocolate Candies sat in the middle of our dessert table.
Last, but not least, a Flower Tiered Serving Tray sat at the opposite end of our table bearing mini cupcakes topped with little butterflies from the 3D Butterfly Ombre Curtain Backdrop. Glue or tape the ombre butterflies to a toothpick or straw before inserting into a cupcake to ensure the cupcakes remain food safe.
We gave the tiered tray a coating of light pink spray paint to really make it a piece of art on our table!
Our little birthday babe felt so special thanks to her playful butterfly highchair banner and personal smash cake topped with Feather Butterflies!
Crafting the DIY highchair banner was a cinch! We began by removing the cord from three DIY Mini White Cotton Drawstring Treat Bags and then painted both front and back sides lavender. Once the paint had dried, we traced around a medium-sized butterfly from the 3D Butterfly Ombre Curtain Backdrop and filled it in with pink paint. Next, we spelled out the word "ONE" using wooden letters and painted them with metallic silver spray paint. A few dots of hot glue perfectly adhered the letters to the center of each butterfly. Finally, we strung the newly created banner onto light pink ribbon and then tied white pom-pom trim, lavender ribbon and silver fringed ribbon onto each end for a bit of fanciful flair!
As with all good things, our magical day had to come to an end and all our little butterflies fluttered home happy and full of memories to last a lifetime! We hope you've been inspired to recreate our dreamy party and make a few memories of your own!
