Turnovers have been a long-time favorite brunch menu item of ours and we couldn't believe how simple they are to make! We've made them a few times now for our family and after they raved about them we thought they would be a fabulous addition to our recent Love in Bloom Bridal Shower. The mix of delicious cherry filling, flaky puff pastry and sweet vanilla glaze is just simply delicious and we can't wait for you to try them!
- 1 Box Puff Pastry Sheets (thawed)
- 1 Can Cherry Pie Filling
- 1 Egg White
- 3/4 c. Confectioners Sugar
- 1 Tbsp. Milk
- 2/4 tsp Vanilla Extract
- Red Food Coloring
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Remove the thawed pasty sheets from the box and place on a piece of wax paper. Cut each sheet into four separate squares.
Add 1 Tbsp of the cherry pie filling into the center of each square.
Lightly beat the egg white and then brush it onto the edges of the pastry squares.
Fold the turnover creating a triangle shape and gently press the edges of the dough together, keeping the cherry pie filling neatly in the middle.
Bake for 25 minutes and then cool on a wire cooling rack.
Whisk together the confectioners sugar, milk, vanilla and 2 drops of red food coloring to create a simple and delicious pink, vanilla glaze.When the turnovers are cool to the touch, drizzle on your glaze. Simply serve on a Spring Greenery Dessert Plate along with some Gold Cutlery and enjoy!
