Baked donuts can turn out great and they are so fun to make. I used this Chocolate Mini Donuts recipe for our Donuts + Sledding Playdate and they were a hit. I not only served them at the party, but I also packaged them up in these darling Donut Party Favor Boxes and attached a tag using the mini clothespins for guests to take home and enjoy later. Go on, whip up a batch!
- 2 Cups Flour
- 3/4 Cup Sugar
- 1/2 Cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 1 t. Baking Soda
- 1 t. Baking Powder
- 1 t. Salt
- 2 Whole Eggs
- 3/4 Cup + 2 Tbsp. Milk
- 1 t. Vanilla Extract
- 2 Tbsp. Butter, melted
- 1 Tbsp. Heavy Cream
- 1 Tbsp. Milk
- 1/4 Cup Butter
- 1 t. Vanilla Extract
- 2 t. Light Corn Syrup
- 2 oz. Semi-sweet Chocolate Morsels
- 1 1/4 Cup Powdered Sugar
To Make Donuts: Preheat mini-donut maker. Mix together eggs, vanilla, sugar, and butter. In a separate bowl, mix together flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
Combine ingredients from both bowls. Slowly add in milk, mixing all together.
Lightly grease donut maker.
Dump ingredients into Ziploc bag, then snip corner for easy pouring.
Fill donut maker with batter, about 3/4 full on each donut shape. Bake 2-4 minutes, or until baked. Do not overbake. While donuts cool, prepare frosting.
To Make Frosting: In a saucepan, combine cream, milk, butter, vanilla, corn syrup and chocolate over medium heat until chocolate and butter melt. Whisk gently. Add in powdered sugar and mix thoroughly.
Immediately frost donuts and decorate as desired.
