Along with pajamas and a read-in, I think a super motivating reward would be to have a “Snow Day” in the classroom! We all know how fun it is to have a “Snow Day” at home, but wouldn’t it be fun to complete some stations around the theme of “snow”?
While browsing Oriental Trading, I came across this treasure box. This is perfect for a day like this. Everything is gathered and ready to go for you. The treasure chest includes: *Polar Friends Puzzle*Welcome Winter Craft Frame*Snowflake Craft Frame Plus, kids can leave with a few prizes or you can add the stash to your classroom incentive box to be used all year. Those include: *Yo-yo, Polar Bear Wheelie, Snowman Ball, and Snowman Paddleball I also included this set of dominoes to the day to have a fun math station. Although these dominoes are not part of the treasure box, they fit in perfectly to the day. To create a Snow Day, make some quick station signs and print on winter blue paper. Next, spruce up the room in order to get the kids really excited and motivated about the day. This way, in the future, they remember this feeling and want to earn this reward again and again. This confirms to them trust. Trust that you and I are going to follow through with the reward and even add some surprises. They, just like anyone else, want to work even harder for these positive surprises. Then add a backdrop for a quick photo booth of the kids in their pajamas. And I even added some icicles at my teacher desk for some simple flair. The kids think this is the coolest thing they've ever seen. Their faces are just priceless.
