Party guests will love these colored cookies – and they’ll love them even more if you let them do the coloring! This is the perfect activity for any Color Me Party or Playdate. All you need are a few simple supplies and a few minutes to prepare the cookies.
Depending on how much time you have and, if you feel comfortable doing it, you can make the cookies and icing yourself, just use your favorite sugar cookie and royal icing recipes. But if you’re running low on time, simply pick up unfrosted sugar cookies from your local bakery and a bottle of cookie icing near the cake decorating supplies in your local craft store. Let the icing harden overnight before you can color on them
Give each guest an iced cookie, paint palette, paint brush, and a variety of food coloring to choose from. Instead of diluting the color with water, you’ll want to use lemon extract.
