This DIY backyard football field was the highlight of a football birthday party for two sports loving brothers. Measure the area you'll use as your field including the end zones. Mark the 4 corners of your field with sports pylons or orange sports cones. Stretch string or twine from cone to cone to mark the outlines of your field. Next, mark 12 equal sections on your string with a black marker. These sections will be the yard lines (10 yards, 20 yards, etc) and end zones. Using spray paint, mark your field lines by spraying lines along your string, and spraying the yard lines. Add some X's or zig-zags to the end zones and mark end zones with 4 pylons or cones each.
Set out enough flag football sets for all the players, and be sure to have a handful of footballs available. At this backyard football party, t-shirts were made using the birthday boys' 2 favorite teams. After dividing into teams, the boys wore the shirts to signify who was on each team. Fill large tubs with foam fingers so that party guests can cheer on the players!
