When you're hosting a Baking Party, what's a clever thing to decorate with? Cupcake liners, of course! We recently threw a Baking Birthday Party and crafted up some baking cup flower bouquets to line the center of our table. Not only were they a fun extension of our theme, but they were sooooo very cute! This is a super easy project that instantly adds a fun pop of color to any party space. We love that the liner colors and patterns can be changed to match any party palette. Take a peek below to learn how to create them for yourself!
You'll need three Cupcake Wrappers per flower that you plan to make. We created three flowers per bouquet. Begin by taking one cupcake liner and folding it in half, pattern side in. Fold in half again to create a triangle.
Open the last fold that you made and squeeze a small dab of hot glue near the very bottom point of the fold. Tuck a Green Chenille Stem into the glue, making sure your chenille stem only covers about 1/4 to 1/3 of the liner fold. Refold the liner and hold until secure.
Unfold the liner and fluff the edges to resemble a flower petal.
Next, fold the remaining two liners the same way that you folded the first one, but this time folding pattern side out.
Use scissors to snip a very tiny hole in the liners by cutting off the tip of the triangles. You want the hole size to be just large enough for the chenille stem to slide through.
Next, slide the two liners onto the chenille stem, pattern side up, to create two more layers of petals. Secure each layer in place with a dab of hot glue around the chenille stem. Fluff the petals to add dimension.
Hot glue a White Tinsel Pom-Pom to the center of your flower. Repeat these steps to create as many flowers as you'd like.
Once your flowers are made, slide a Green Chevron Paper Straw over each chenille stem.
Of course flowers need leaves, so snip a few leaf shapes out of green paper, making sure to include a stem. We cut one leaf per flower.
Attach the leaves to the straws using a dab of hot glue.
