Need a simple activity to keep kids (or adults!) entertained during your outdoor party? This DIY balloon dart game is a crowd-pleaser, especially if prizes are involved! You only need a few supplies to make the dart game - a chicken wire frame, balloons, and darts. Use multiple frames for a bigger impact. We hung the balloon game along the fence for our Backyard Fiesta Party and it was a big hit! You can even reuse the wood frames for another craft project after the party.
Inflate a balloon with air and tie to the unfinished wood frame with wire, starting at the bottom. You can use 9" latex balloons and not inflate completely like I did, or you can use smaller 5" latex balloons.
Continue adding balloons in similar sizes to create rows until you have filled the entire frame. I created four rows of three balloons.
Hang the frames from a fence using twine or the hangers on the back of the frame. Have players stand approximately 12 feet away from the balloons. Give each player three darts to throw during their turn. Prizes can be awarded based on number of balloons popped or a particular color of balloon. You can also insert a note with a prize or even dollar bills in the balloons before inflating. Don't miss the other fun activities we had during our Backyard Fiesta Party like my DIY Fiesta Wreath.
