Whether you use them as charming Easter tree ornaments or as sweet little Easter accents, these beaded carrots add a fresh look to your DIY Easter decorations. This Easter craft is easy to make and adds so much charm to your Easter home decor. Kick off your Easter DIYs by making a bunch of beaded carrots now!
First, prepare to paint the Wood Beads. To make it easy, simply use a tiny drop of hot glue to lightly secure each of the Round Unfinished Wood Beads and Bulk Unfinished Wood Beads to a bamboo skewer.
Paint the beads with a flat-bristled paintbrush and acrylic paint. Stand them up in a tall vase or cup to dry.
While the beads are drying, cut a 4 – 6 inch length of green raffia ribbon and set it aside. Wrap the remaining green raffia around all of your fingers 8-10 times and cut from the bundle. Use the 4-6 inch length of raffia and thread it through the looped raffia. Tie the cut length into a knot to hold the raffia bundle in place.
Once the beads are dry, cut a 16-18 inch length of hemp or thin twine cording. Thread it through the smallest wood bead until it is in the middle of the cording. Make sure you have equal amounts of cording on each side of the bead.
Thread the next size larger wood bead onto BOTH ends of the cording. Continue threading the beads onto both ends of the cording.
Thread one end of the hemp cording through the tied green raffia loop and using both ends of the cording, tie a knot to hold the raffia in place.
Tie the ends of the hemp cording together to form a hanger.
Carefully cut the raffia loop to make a stem and trim to the desired length.
