Bring a little nature indoors this spring with this sweet DIY "Bless our Nest" Sign. The large Stained Wood Sign is a substantial piece that makes a statement in a foyer or on any wall in your home. To create the sign, I started with the FolkArt® Bless Our Nest Stencil and then incorporated twigs, a faux bird's nest and two brightly painted ceramic birds. Position the FolkArt® Bless Our Nest Stencil on the left side of the Stained Wood Sign and hold in place with masking tape.
Squeeze a small amount of Apple Barrel® Acrylic Craft Paint onto a paper plate and use a foam brush to apply the paint to the stencil with an up and down dabbing motion. I used the Bright Yellow and Key West paint colors, but you can customize it to match your home decor! Carefully lift up the stencil to reveal your design and let dry.
Remove the hangers from two DIY Ceramic Bird Ornaments and paint with craft paint. Let dry.
Add two twigs to the side of the sign with a bead of hot glue on the back. Position the twigs so that they start at the bottom of the sign and extend slightly past the top of the sign.
Finish the sign by gluing on the two birds and a faux nest with eggs.
