A pretty, feminine bridal shower, such as a lingerie shower or Vintage Boudoir Shower, calls for a special glass for toasting in celebration! These pretty painted wine glasses are designed to resemble a bride and her bridesmaids, and make a lovely gift for bridal party members.
Using a wide paintbrush, paint a "V" about midway down the front of the wine glass, as shown. A soft shade of pink is a great option for bridesmaid glasses, while white for the bride is a perfect choice!
Hold the paintbrush in one spot and rotate the glass to paint a horizontal stripe on the glass, joining the design.
Paint in the remaining area below the line you have created, down to the stem, and allow to dry before applying a second coat.
Use a small detail brush to dot on a contrasting color of "lace" around the border of the design you printed. Pressing and lifting will create an almond shape that really resembles a lacy border when complete.
Continue the lace pattern until the entire top of the design is finished and allow to dry.
Tie five six-inch sections of tulle onto another six inch piece of tulle, by looping them onto it, as shown.
When all five pieces are looped on, you'll have a miniature "tutu".
Tie the tutu onto the glass and knot tightly. Trim to desired length, ensuring that all the ends are even, and that they won't interfere with use of the glass. You can glue the tutu to the part of the glass where the stem begins using a dot of hot glue.
Add details to your hearts content! Gems and polka dots are just a couple of ways to embellish these pretty hand painted wine glasses.
