Lightly sand your wood pumpkin shape and then paint the wood pumpkin with white acrylic paint. Allow time for the paint to dry.
Lightly draw vertical sections onto your pumpkin shape.
Cut out the floral pattern from the Chinoiserie Wedding Luncheon Napkins. Prep the napkins by removing the two bottom plies of the napkin, keeping only the printed top part of the napkin.
Apply a layer of Mod Podge® Matte Finish Acrylic Sealer to the middle section you drew, or every other section, depending on your pumpkin. While the Mod Podge® is still wet, carefully put each floral napkin portion into place, making sure they're laying as flat as possible. Apply a layer of Mod Podge® Matte Finish Acrylic Sealer over the section of floral napkins you placed. Make sure not to go outside the lines! Allow time for the Mod Podge® to dry completely.
Use a craft knife to cut away the excess floral napkin, using the drawn lines as guides.
Once again using the drawn lines as guides, paint the remaining pumpkin sections with acrylic paint and a flat-bristled paint brush. Allow time for the paint to dry.
To embellish your sign, wrap the pumpkin stem with jute and a DIY beaded garland. (Don't worry – we'll show you how to make that below!)
To make the tassel for the beaded garland, begin by cutting a small piece of twine and taping it to the outside edge of a small piece of cardboard with washi tape. Wrap a second length of twine around the cardboard. Remove the tape and tie the small piece of twine around the wrapped twine. Cut the twine off the cardboard and tie a small piece of twine around the entire top of the tassel. You will need to make two tassels that have each been wrapped around a 5" piece of cardboard 20-25 times. Trim the tassel for a more polished look.
To finish the beaded garland, thread wood beads onto a length of twine and glue a twine tassel onto either end of the garland. Wrap the garland around the pumpkin stem and hot glue it into place.
