Give your kids a reason to ring the bells on Christmas Day with this fun and easy DIY. They will love creating their own Clay Pot Christmas Bells and displaying on the Christmas tree for years to come.
Start out by having the children paint a base layer of paint on the DIY Mini Ceramic Flower Pots. It's easiest to use a sponge brush for this part. We used the white paint as a base to start with, but then the kids got creative.
Pro Tip! Start out with a nice, clean, and somewhat organized painting space. That's one reason I love these Easy Clean Trays. All the kids crafting and painting supplies can be right within their reach and the mess is contained.
Once the base layer of paint has dried, you can let the kids start to add in some other colors of detail on the DIY Ceramic Flower Pots. Let the kids use some of the detail brushes to on this part. The kids LOVE using the different paint brushes. We loved using the Crayola Tempera Paint. It went on well, dried pretty quickly, and best of all, it's washable! Once they have finished painting the designs on the DIY Ceramic Flower Pots, let them dry.
Once the paint has dried, kids can add even more detail with this Christmas Stamp Assortment. We found that it was best to place the stamp down and roll it back and forth to get a good stamp. Now we are ready to add the bell and loop. Take a strand of Christmas Colored Metalic Chenille Stem, and fold it in half. Tie the chenille stem into a knot about half-way down. Pull the ends of the chenille stem through the loop of a Jumbo Jingle Bell, and bend the chenille stem to secure the bell into place.
Once the bell has been added, pull the chenille stem through the center hole of the DIY Ceramic Flower Pots. The Jumbo Jingle Bell should be tucked nicely inside the clay pot now.
Now stand back and watch the creativity flow from your kids. My oldest daughter wanted to make a Christmas tree looking Clay Pot Christmas Bell, so she painted hers green with some extra paint detail, and a yellow top for the star.
