Just because the leaves are changing color doesn't mean you have to say good-bye to pastel colors! Choosing softer shades of typical fall colors such as blush, pastel and mustard yellow creates a beautiful unexpected color palette that perfectly transitions the late summer months into autumn. We created a stunning tablescape for our Fall Pastel Bridal Brunch by color blocking painted pumpkins and layering in plenty of texture with the champagne draping fabric and birch wood pieces that resulted in a gorgeous feast for the eyes. Follow the steps below to create your own swoon-worthy table centerpiece for your next event!

Begin by painting an abundance of assorted fall pumpkins in various colors to coordinate with your theme. I chose varying shades of coral, blush, mustard yellow and grey for this color scheme. Depending upon the coverage of the paint, you may need to apply a few coats to achieve a fully opaque finish. For reference, I used a total of 45 pumpkins for our centerpiece.

Using a small paintbrush, carefully paint the stems of the pumpkins with gold paint. A gold paint marker would also do the trick.

While the paint on the pumpkins are drying, begin staging your centerpiece by first layering a length of champagne layering fabric down the center of your table. Trim the excess portion off, making sure to leave enough on each end of the table to create a "puddle" on the floor. "Pinch" the fabric every few inches to create more movement and texture.

Next, place two round birch centerpieces and four birch pillars in the center of the table, alternating them every other one for height and visual interest.

Ensure the paint has fully dried on the pumpkins, and then begin layering them down the center of the table. Be sure to place them one color at a time between each of the birch pillars and centerpieces.

Now complete the look by adding a flameless candle to each of the birch centerpieces and a flower-filled pink bud vase to each birch pillar.
