Adding a dash of color to your wedding can be as simple as 1, 2, 3 and it only takes about that many steps to make these chic and colorful DIY chair backers! Adding a modern touch of color blocking to some already gorgeous chair backers, along with some bright Washi Tape and some fresh florals, creates this eye-catching decorative detail that will be all the rage at your event!
Begin by using Painter's Tape to tape off the Mr. & Mrs. Gold Calligraphy Chair Sign where you would like the color blocking to begin and the then cover the top half of the letters with either a tarp or trash bag to block from being painted.
Head outside and use one color spray paint on the bottom of the Mrs. Calligraphy Chair Sign and a different color spray paint for the Mr. Calligraphy Chair Sign. We went with fuchsia and coral to go with our table's color palette. Allow to dry and then remove the Painter's Tape.
Add strips of Yellow Washi Tape across the line that divides the color blocked portion of the letter from the original gold section.
Add a light coat of mint blue spray paint to 2 14-16" pieces of White Lace Ribbon and allow to dry.
Take a few fresh flowers and cut then blooms down to approximately 6" in height. Bundle together with the painted White Lace Ribbon.
Loop a piece of Gold Sparkle Stretch Cording around the given holes at the ends of the Mr. & Mrs. Gold Calligraphy Chair Signs and then tie them to the end of each chair. Use the end of the painted White Lace Ribbon that bundled your flowers to tie it to the chair post for an extra special detail. Repeat this step with the groom's chair and your DIY Chair Backers will be complete!
