Create your own prehistoric scene with dinosaurs on the hunt, rocky boulders, and tropical plants – all within a floating candle bowl! These colorful DIY dinosaur terrariums will be a big hit with kids for Dino Week of Camp Fun! This activity was one of Stella and Hazel’s favorite of all our at-home summer camp ideas. They worked hard to make their terrarium scenes just how they wanted them, and their results were so fun!
Set out your supplies by emptying the sand and gravel into bowls and using a craft tray under the floating candle bowl to contain any sand!
Start by filling the bottom of the bowl with sand. A measuring cup works great for this!
Decorate the top of the sand with colorful gravel.
Finish your terrarium scene by adding palm tree pics and mini dinosaurs.
