The air is getting crisp, the leaves are starting to change and pumpkin spice lattes are back, fall is finally here! If you are like me you love this season and you can't wait to wear boots and sweaters, sip cocktails by the fire on a cool crisp evening and enjoy all thing's pumpkin. I love transforming my home for the fall, I especially love giving my mantle a fresh farmhouse makeover. But, I don't want to break the bank buying new fall decor. This year I'm giving my mantle a refresh and adding the farmhouse style to my fall decor with a DIY aged galvanized bucket, pumpkins and a free printable Farm Fresh sign. Start by sanding the edges of your galvanized bucket. This will help give it an aged look as well as help the paint to adhere better.
Use a paint brush and the rust colored paint and lightly brush paint on the top and bottom edge of your bucket.
Use a paint sponge to sponge the dark gray paint all over the bucket. Let the paint dry throughly before moving on to the next step.
Use the light gray paint and a sponge to apply a light coat of paint all over the bucket. Continue working the sponge around the bucket until you have the desired "aged" look of an old farmhouse bucket. Let the paint dry overnight.
Fill the bottom of the bucket with natural moss, reserve a little bit to use as filler.
Fill the bucket with mini pumpkins and add fill in any gaps with the natural moss.
