There is nothing better once the weather starts to cool down a bit, than spending time outdoors in the evening. And what better way to create seasonal ambiance than making a fun DIY Fall Jack-o-Lantern! Not only do they look festive lit with candles but they are a great, quick kid friendly project you can do with the entire family. An added bonus with these foam face shape kits is you can remove them and create new faces!
Start by laying out all the small pumpkin face kit pieces. Decide what your faces will look like and start adding them to your Copper Lantern.
Have fun creating depth to your foam faces, by adding additional details like eyes, hats and noses!
Cut about 3' of gray and black yarn to wrap the Copper Lantern handles. As you wrap the yarn around the handle, add a small drop of hot glue to help keep yarn in place.
Once your lanterns have festive faces and their handles are wrapped, it's time to add the candles. Using battery operated candles helps keep everyone safe. Using taller round taper candles and a combination of votive light candles works perfectly.
