I am going to show you how to create this very simple and fun gift with your kids. If your kids are anything like mine, they get super excited when I break out the paint and let them be creative. Kids especially love creating things that they can give as gifts. I absolutely adore the way my kids faces light up when they present someone with something they’ve handmade. Let the kids pick out their favorite paint colors. Pour them into a paint tray for easier access to the paint, and hopefully it will be slightly less messy too.
Paint a base color on the tool kit with the paint brush and let it dry.
Let the kids get creative with the paint and personalize the unfinished wood tool kits with designs and details. Once they have finished painting set the tool kit aside to dry.
Once the kit is dry help the kids assemble the DIY Unfinished Wood Tool Kits. Here’s a tip: you may need to use a small dab of glue in the slots to help hold the kit together and make it sturdier, so you can fill it with goodies.
Once the tool kit is assembled add some of the colorful paper shred to the bottom of the box.
