DIY Fringe Mantel Garland

Piñata fringe backdrop walls are all the rage, but did you know you can make a mini version to use as a garland? Yes! This mini DIY fringe mantel garland is perfect for your holiday decorating. Choose the colors of plastic tablecloths to match your holiday decorations and whip up this garland in just a few hours. Just note that this garland is for a non-working fireplace only!

Begin by unrolling or unfolding the plastic tablecloths and cutting them into 2" wide strips.

I used the hot pink tablecloth, iridescent, lilacyellow, mint and metallic gold foil

Next, lay out the strips of cut plastic table cloth and iridescent cellophane next to each other to create an assortment of the colors.

Continue laying out the pieces until you have a section 3' long. Next, use packing tape to tape along the top edge of the strips to attach them to each other. Then flip over the section and tape along the back to secure the pieces in between the two pieces of tape.

Repeat to make four 3' sections. Next, tape the sections together to create a two layered fringe garland that is 6' wide. Then use removable adhesive strips to attach the garland to your mantel. Cut any long pieces to give the garland an even layered look.
