This Gnome Hat Centerpiece gets its inspiration from vintage Christmas decorations, fairy gardens, and visions of sugarplums. It’s quick and inexpensive to create, but has fantastic impact on our party table. Look closely, there are tiny treasures and delightful discoveries from every angle!
Trim winter paper sheets in contrasting patterns to fit the wood block banks, and glue on to the surface.
Wrap the styrofoam cones in felt, and glue to attach, trimming excess with scissors. Use Stitched Christmas trims to conceal seams, as shown. Embellish as desired.
Wrap DIY Cardboard Cones in felt, and then glue to adhere. Trim excess with scissors.
Add a pom pom or other trim to the tip of the hat with glue, and embellish the hats using snowflake jewels, silver tinsel trims, rick rack and other notions.
Assemble the completed centerpiece elements down the center of a long table, alternating tall and short cones. We stacked some of our wood blocks to resemble piles of presents. We added in sisal trees, cardboard stars covered in glittering craft snow, ornaments and tiny findings from our own collection, and soft faux snow. The overall effect is magical, and there’s something to see from every angle.
