Squeeze a small amount of metal leaf adhesive onto a paper plate and use your foam brush to apply it to the bottom half of the ice bucket. Use vertical brush strokes at about the same height all around the bottom of the ice bucket. Let the adhesive dry for 30-45 minutes until it is tacky.

Carefully apply the metal leaf sheets one at a time by laying them flat against the adhesive-covered part of the ice bucket. Use the protective sheet to smooth down the metal foil.

Carefully peel away any of the gold foil that is above the adhesive line. It will tear right where the adhesive ends. You can then use that piece to cover another spot of adhesive on the ice bucket.
