The guests at my Girls Night In Coloring Party were each encouraged to take their time coloring in the lines of their printed coloring sheets. So, to make the most of their hard work and to show off their creative skills, I made DIY Hand-painted Embellished Frames for each of them to take home along with their completed works of art.

Start by painting your DIY 5″ x 7″ Wooden Frames white using acrylic and chalk finish paint and a 2-inch foam paint brush. Allow the frames to dry for 1 hour, and then use 1-4 inch masking tape to mask off sections of the frames where you would like to add color. Press the tape firmly down on all sides, and then paint the masked-off sections with acrylic paint in your colors of choice. Use a 1-inch foam paint brush for each of the three different colors so that you don’t have to wash to brushes in between coats. My frames needed three coats of paint in order for the color to be saturated enough that you didn’t see the white-painted finish underneath.

Allow the colorful paint to dry for 20 minutes in between each coat, and allow the completed frame to dry for 1-2 hours before handling. Finish by encouraging the guests at your party to fill the DIY Hand-painted Embellished Frames with their finished coloring pages to take home and enjoy!
