We use a lot of magnets in our house, from hanging up the school lunch menu and chore lists on the kitchen refrigerator, to displaying project inspiration on my craft room file cabinet. I thought it would be fun to replace our hodgepodge of magnets with a set of these pretty rhinestone decorated hearts that I made myself! These mini wood hearts are the perfect size for magnets and can be customized with craft paint and adhesive rhinetone jewels. A set of these would make for a sweet gift too!
Use a foam brush and acrylic craft paint (similar to shown) to paint the top and sides of the wood hearts. I chose a palette of four different complentary paint colors for my hearts.
Decorate to your heart’s desire with rhinestones! I used a mix of the adhesive rhinestone jewels and heart rhinestone stickers for mine. These self-adhesive pearl jewels are another great option.
Add three small dot magnets to the back. While they do have an adhesive backing, I recommend using a strong craft glue like E600 to adhere them firmly to the wood.
These magnets look so pretty when displayed together. Kids would enjoy making these as much as adults, and the hearts come in a pack of 50 so you will have plenty to use for other projects like this cute heart wreath!
