We do a lot of art projects in our house and created an easy storage solution for art supplies. Customize your own DIY wooden crate for this storage idea.
Taking my first paint color, I painted just the bottom crate slat in a light blue color. Then, I painted a green slat and the narrow interior sides of the wood, painted them a bright bold lime green color.
To add a little whimsy, I added black polka dots to the remainder of the crate. I used a simple pouncer, but a pencil top would also create a perfect little polka dot.
Next up I organized all our supplies in small containers! I used a mix of DIY paint cans and short jars. I love using clear containers so you can see what supplies you actually have to work with!
My kids new favorite craft supply are these foam geometric self-adhesive shapes. Those combines with the color glitter pens and they are sent for hours!
I also fell in love with the story journals, too. My kids can use them as a creative journal or a place to write out their thoughts. They are the perfect size for little hands.
