These clever and functional travel coffee mugs are made spectacular with an easy to apply marbling technique called hydro-dipping, that's simple even for the craftily-challenged.
Fill plastic container with water, and drip several drops of nail polish onto the surface.
Continue adding additional colors of nail polish to include all of the colors in your design. It's okay to layer colors over one another, and even to cross them.
Use a toothpick to drag the colors vertically and horizontally, creating a marbelized pattern in the paint.
Gently dip a DIY Travel Mug into the paint, turning slowly and carefully in one direction. The mug will pick up the paint from the surface of the water.
Remove the mug from the water, taking care not to touch the design. Allow to dry without anything touching the paint for at least an hour.
Dry the outside of the mugs thoroughly. Each mug contains a paper insert which can further be personalized, if desired.
