Using a plastic scoop, fill a pint sized mason jar half full with potting soil.
Trim the vegetables that you'll be using for "planting" in your jar. For ours, we tried to match the veggie to the seed packet that we use in a future step.
Place the trimmed vegetables vertically into the jar and fill in the space around them with additional potting soil for stability.
Using hot glue, carefully wrap the mason jar with a length of royal blue striped ribbon and secure in place until cooled.
Fold your selected seed packet as shown, then use hot glue to adhere it to the front of the jar.
For a fun personalized touch, add a length of chalkboard washi tape, and add the names of your guests with a fine point chalk marker.
Add a decorative bow fashioned from raffia ribbon. You can also add decorative touches like small paper flowers for a little pop of color if you like. Your place cards are ready to display!
