Everyone knows that Cookie Monster's absolute favorite food is of course...COOKIES! For our recent Cookie Monster Birthday Party we wanted to create a milk and cookie dessert bar full of Cookie Monster inspired treats that were fit to boast this famous monster's name! With some cookie-inspired decor, loads of cookie laden treats and of course some Cookie Monster details, this DIY backdrop and dessert buffet will have your guests craving cookies and milk!
Start by layering your wall in a sheet of blue gossamer. Next, add a strip of kraft paper down the center and add some faux chocolate chips cut from card stock.
Using a brown sharpie marker, add the phrase, "Cookie is for Cookie and Milk Bar" to the kraft paper.
Flanking each side of the signage, add some brown and white paper fans.
Create a thick and luxe tassel garland by layering blue, white and gold tassels along the front of the buffet. Be sure to alternate placement so each color is visible.
Whip up a custom chocolate chip cookie-inspired table runner. Cut a strip of kraft paper and use a hole punch and brown card stock to create the chocolate chips. Secure the chips in place with a glue stick.
Lay the DIY table runner down the center of the buffet. In the center of your table, display these homemade Cookie Monster Cupcakes on a white cake stand. These are a fun and inexpensive alternative to a classic birthday cake. Be sure to grab the Cupcake Recipe here!

Fill plastic candy jars with your favorite types of cookies. Create a cute sign using paint pens and mini chalkboard signs then hang them from the jar knobs. You can use the generic label of "cookies" or list the exact type of cookie too!
Don't forget the milk! Place glass beverage dispensers on cake stands for easy access. This prevents drips and spills. Create an additional sign with a chalkboard sign and paint pens and place them on the cake stand. Feel free to mix and match your milk flavors (regular, chocolate or strawberry) and even add that to your sign!
Lastly, send your guests home with a few extra mini chocolate chip cookies. Assemble small blue favor boxes and fill them with chocolate chip cookies. Add a sweet detail by adhering a small chocolate brown bow to the top of each box!
