Love someone more than words? Make them a special handcrafted piece of décor with this DIY Mini Wood Heart Canvas. It’s perfect for Valentine’s day, an anniversary gift, or just to let someone know how you feel. Follow the easy instructions below to make one to give or one of your very own.
Use a flat bristle paintbrush to paint 3 Mini Wood Hearts in each of the following acrylic paint colors: light aqua, white, light pink, gold, and hot pink. Find an ‘I’ and a ‘U’ from the Wood Letters, and paint them in coordinating colors.
To create polka dot hearts, dip the very tip of a pencil eraser into acrylic paint. Lightly tap the painted eraser onto a wooden heart. Continue dipping and painting polka dots onto the heart until the entire heart is full of pretty polka dots.
Apply a layer of Mod Podge® onto one wood heart with a Sponge Paint Brush. While the Mod Podge® is still wet, carefully apply gold foil and/or glitter.
Adhere Black and White Washi Tape to the wooden hearts that are painted white. Line up the pattern in the washi tape to create a fully patterned heart. Use scissors or a craft knife to cut off the excess washi tape.
Arrange the hearts and letters onto a 12x12 Canvas. Once you have the wood elements arranged to your liking, use hot glue to adhere them to the canvas.
