When we saw these Cupcake Pedestals we knew they were going to be the perfect piece of decor for our DIY Watercolor Peach Place card. Of course, they are typically meant to hold cupcakes, but for our Mint and Peach Wedding, we are going to change it up a bit! We love how simply classic and chic this product is and knew it would showcase a lovely, fresh peach and our place card flag perfectly. Find out how we made them!
Begin by adding a coat of gold spray paint to the bottom portion of the Cupcake Pedestal. The pedestal comes in two pieces, making this a simple step! Allow the paint to completely dry.
Add one quarter size drop of your acrylic paint to 1/2 c. water and mix. We used a mix of peach and coral to achieve the color we wanted. The great thing about this is that you can pick and choose any colors to match the theme of your event!
Dip your paint brush into the watercolor and then brush the paint onto a piece of watercolor paper. Apply as little or many coats as needed until you achieve the color and look you would like. Allow the painted paper to dry completely.
Using the gold metallic sharpie, write the name of your guest on the watercolor place card flag. Add a small drop of hot glue to the top of the bamboo skewer and wrap the folded edge of the place card around it.
Place a fresh peach into the Cupcake Pedestal and added your new watercolor place card flag!
