We wanted to create a useful party favor that was not only incredibly cute, but could be used every day! Guests love bringing home a favor that can be enjoyed for years to come, and this summery DIY Pineapple and Flamingo Tote Bag is a favor that guests can tote around all summer long! With a few simple supplies and our easy step-by-step tutorial, you can create this favor idea at home!
Start by cutting out a flamingo shape out of pink felt from the Gigantic Fantastic Felt Sheets. We simply cut an oval shape with a long wiggly neck on it. No need to include the flamingo’s legs, they will be added in a later step.
Using a few dots of Elmer’s® Washable School Glue, adhere the felt flamingo to the Pineapple Drawstring Bag and allow it to fully dry in place.
Give the flamingo a little personality with a cute Black Googly Eye!
Grab your choice of Crayola® Fabric Markers and get creative by adding beak detailing, legs and personalization!
It is time to add the wings of the flamingo. Cut an oval shape out of the Hot Pink Tulle Roll. Include a few jagged edges at one side to represent feathers. Adhere the tulle to the flamingo with a few small dabs of Elmer’s® Washable School Glue. This will dry clear, so don’t worry if you add too much glue by accident.
Untie the slip knot at the base of the bag and slide a trimmed pineapple from the Pineapple Garland over the string to act as a thank you tag.
Add a thank you message for guests to the pineapple tag with a marker.
Slip a Flamingo Swirl Lollipop through the pineapple thank you tag as an extra sweet touch!
