For our recent red, pink and gold wedding, we wanted to keep the details simple and chic, while bringing in our vibrant colors through our DIY centerpiece and coordinating table decor. Transforming a rustic riser and topping it with a mix of gorgeous faux and real flowers added the bit of colorful drama this fabulous wedding theme called for.
Begin by adding a coat of gold spray paint to 1 large riser and to 2 medium-sized risers from two sets of rustic riser centerpiece sets. Allow to dry.
Next, we add in the floral foam. This particular floral foam comes in the exact size needed to fit on the top of the largest riser. For the two medium-sized risers, the foam will need to be cut down to size. Trim approximately 2" off 2 pieces of foam to fit each riser.
Now it's time to fill the foam with our flowers. Start with the largest blooms such as the faux peony and roses, as they will take up more space. Make sure to leave the top of the foam fairly empty as to save space for your calligraphy love sign that will be added in later.
Hot glue the calligraphy love sign to the top of the foam and then surround it with small pieces of greenery and flowers. Your DIY centerpiece is now ready to display at your red, pink and gold wedding!
