If your child loves pirates and sea animals, this DIY Pirate Animals Party Banner is the perfect addition to their room, playroom or a Pirate Animal Birthday Party! Craft this fabric party banner using a cutting machine or our free printable template.
If you have a Sizzix Big Shot, start creating your banner by by folding a Pirate Animal Bandana in half and create a "Sizzix Sandwich", making sure the image is centered on the die.
If you're using the Free Printable Template, simply print the template onto cardstock and cut out the template with scissors. Next, using the template, cut several pennants making sure you center the template on the images. Once all the pennants are cut, you can skip to Step 4.
A "Sizzix Sandwich" for this project consists of the following: 1 Standard Cutting Pad, Bigz Die, folded Pirate Animal Bandana, then a second Standard Cutting Pad on top.
Next, using the handle; pass the "sandwich" through the machine. Repeat using the rest of the bandana. For every bandana, you should yield 4 pennants.
Once the pennants are all cut using the different bandana patterns, place them right side down on the table. Alternate the designs to create a colorful banner. Next, lay the Natural Cording across the pennants about 1 1/2 inch from the top.
Fold the top of the pennant over the cording and secure with glue to create a "pocket". You'll want to make sure there is plenty of room for the pennant to move along the cording freely. Repeat for the desired length of your banner.
Now it's time to hang up your creation! This vibrant fabric banner will look great at your child's Pirate Animals Birthday Party and can be reused to decorate their bedroom or playroom!
