Using a small paintbrush, paint the bottom portion of your DIY Ceramic Pumpkin Banks with black acrylic paint. Leave the pumpkin stem and leaf unpainted.
While the paint is drying on your pumpkins, download the bat wing template here. Trace wings onto black gossamer. I used a white chalk pencil so I could easily see the outline of the wings against the black fabric. You will need two wings per bat.
When the black paint has dried, paint the leaves on each of the pumpkin banks green. I mixed a bit of white acrylic paint to the green acrylic paint to form a lighter shade.
Next, paint the stems of the pumpkins brown. I lightened up the shade by mixing in some white acrylic paint until I achieved the shade I wanted.
Cut out the template for the bow. Trace and cut out two curved pieces and one oval per bat on pink felt. To create the bow itself, snip a small notch into the bottom edge of each curved piece and then overlap it slightly and hot glue to the other end. This will give each side of the bow a bit of dimension. Next, hot glue the two pieces together overlapping to form a middle section, and then attach an oval piece on top.
Now that the pumpkins have dried, it's time to attach the black gossamer wings. Fold the flat end slightly to give the wing a bit more weight, and then tuck the wing into one of the pumpkin's ridges, using a dab of hot glue. Finish by adorning each of your bats with a newly formed pretty pink bow.
Add your completed Pumpkin Bat Place Cards to each place setting and guests will shriek with delight when they realize it's a cute little bank for them to take home!
