Take your Halloween décor to a cute, colorful place with this DIY Halloween sign. Follow the below instructions to create a creepy, yet kawaii addition to any room in your house during the Halloween season.
Using white acrylic paint and a Sponge Paintbrush, paint the DIY Wood Plank Sign. Allow time for the paint to dry.
Download, print and tape down the nail template with washi tape. You can download the Creepy and Kawaii Free Printable here.
Use the template as a guide and hammer nails into the wood sign. Tip: For small nails, use tweezers to hold the nail in place as you hammer. Once all of the nails are hammered in, remove the paper template.
Tie a length of Embroidery Floss around one nail and wrap the string around the nails to fill in the shape. To finish off the string, tie it to your last nail adding a drop of glue to secure it in place. Continue filling in the shapes with different colors and finishing them off as stated above.
Use the free printable templates as a guide to cut the pumpkin faces from black Felt Sheets. Hot glue the felt pumpkin faces to the string art.
Rub pencil on the back of the word template. Cut the words out and arrange them onto the wood sign. Washi Tape the template in place on the wood sign and trace over the template with a ballpoint pen. Once all of the words are traced, remove the paper template.
Use a small flat-bristled paint brush and acrylic paint to paint the traced words in bright colors.
