When planning a party one of my biggest concerns is making sure there are plenty of activities for the kiddos to enjoy. If you have engaging activities and entertainment, you can ensure that your party will run smoothly and any incidents fueled by sugared up kids can be avoided. For the High Octane Race Car Party I recently styled, this was my favorite activity! Here’s where to start.
Gather necessary items listed above.
String a Checkered Flag Hanging Pennant Banner above the designated race track.
Set up Traffic Cones around the track. I drilled holes in the top of the cones where I could then put checkered flags in.
Remove the packaging from the Trophies and set them out so they are ready to give out to the winners.
Add other decor elements if desired, like this fun Race Car Directional Sign that I placed in the corner to add ambiance, and help the mini drivers find their way.
Have kids paint their very own cardboard race car. I used craft paint and placed little dollops of paint on a plate. You can also use these paint palettes. If the thought of kids and paint makes you hyperventilate, just know you are not alone. You can also provide the party guests a wide array of markers.
Let the paint dry.
Let the races begin!
To start out the fun have the kids take turns holding flags and giving the ‘go’ sign.
Pass out trophies at the end of the races and let the kids go to the “Winners Circle,” also known as the photo booth. The photo booth was made with black and white checkered party backdrop, mylar balloons and race car photo booth props.
